How can I help?

Introduction:
You can also contribute even if you only have a sentence or less of text. It can be a sentence or just a question. Sometimes things start with a small action. Small changes can often have a greater impact than large ones.

Clearly distinguish between evidence, opinions, and clues:
However, explicitly indicate whether something is an opinion, evidence, or a clue, even if something suspicious has happened or if it logically points to one conclusion.
A clue is a hint that suggests a suspicion but does not constitute proof. Evidence requires solid facts (e.g., court-admissible evidence, documented procedures, official records, verifiable financial transactions, etc.).
You will often encounter situations that provide strong clues but lack definitive evidence. Your task is to make this distinction transparent.
For example: A journalist who is found dead after publishing critical revelations about Company Y. The facts are: 1. They reported on Y. 2. They are dead. This is a chain of clues that logically suggests Y might be involved.
But beware: This is not evidence, only a clue.
A clear distinction is necessary.

No strong language:
Important: Protect yourself legally.
Emotionally charged language, insults, or strong expressions should absolutely be avoided in the text. These only play into the hands of the involved politicians/people/opponents/organizations, as they distract from the substantive criticism and undermine your credibility. Ultimately, this weakens your own position and gives your opponents an easy way to attack you.
Such formulations could meet the legal criteria for defamation, libel, slander, hate speech, character assassination, or similar offenses.
Don’t be stupid.

Name names:
Criticizing an abstract entity like “the government” is ineffective. This indirectly protects the actual responsible parties since they are never mentioned. You should specify who did what and who is responsible.
To make an impact, it’s ideal to name specific names and positions, which requires more research and effort. Only then will the affected individuals feel directly addressed and be pressured to explain or change their behavior.
However, the legal risk is also high. Naming names may lead to lawsuits or other forms of pressure. This risk intimidates many and results in vague criticism.
Ultimately, the decision is yours. But any criticism, no matter how confusing or unclear, is better than blindly looking away.

Backup:
If you uncover corruption or criticize politicians, they may have contacts who could delete or block your information and sources. Or, for inexplicable reasons, the server hosting your publication might be attacked.
Therefore, it’s advisable to make backups.
You could use the Wayback Machine or https://archive.ph/ to archive your publications.
Alternatively, HTTrack is recommended. Afterwards, you can upload the saved data to a media provider like Mega or Mediafire.

Preventing persecution:
Remember that corruption involves perpetrators intentionally breaking laws or manipulating systems for their advantage. People exposing such activities can be persecuted, tracked, or threatened.
Think about the consequences. If something happens to you, no law can help and no lawyer can bring you back.
Protect yourself before it’s too late.
Use pseudonyms to hide your identity.
Use anonymity networks1 or anonymity software like Tor (or VPNs like Mullvad, secure operating systems2, or privacy-focused services3).
Never give your real name, address, phone number, face showing or similar.
If an email4 is necessary, use Proton or similar services.
Imagine criticizing a corrupt politician. Do you seriously believe such a person lacks the means and contacts to identify and pressure you under any circumstances?

Values:
But we need to define what our values are and which core principles we are fighting for. You can read about this in our manifesto and in the reform of the respective country.


Psychology

Self-purpose:
Ultimately, it doesn’t matter what you uncover. If you don’t have a well-known name, hardly anyone will be interested in what you say, and no one will read it or find it on the internet.
Nevertheless, I recommend doing it if you are motivated. This work can make you a better, future journalist. You will have to engage deeply with your sources and thoughts, whether intentionally or unintentionally, and summarize them. Through this process, you can develop a more well-founded opinion.

Defeat:
You should be able to listen to other arguments and have an open ear for criticism.
I want to emphasize that fallacies and false information can occur everywhere. And if you make a mistake, you should openly admit it. You need to apologize then. Of course, it shouldn’t be a dramatic, tearful apology. A word or a note explaining why the source/text was changed is completely sufficient.
It doesn’t show weakness but strength and a willingness to seek the truth.

Living Medium:
Be aware that the final outcome can constantly change due to new discoveries and information. New arguments and sources might emerge. It is not a finished product but a living organism.

Anger as a Motivator:
If you see something that doesn’t sit right with you, you can feel anger or become emotional.
Then do a breathing exercise: breathe in for four seconds, hold your breath for four seconds, then exhale for eight seconds.
4 seconds inhale – 4 seconds hold – 8 seconds exhale. Since you exhale more air than you inhale, your body will calm down after a short time. (Similar to box breathing5. I deliberately chose 8 seconds for exhaling instead of the usual 4 seconds because you should exhale more air than you inhale to calm down. You can experiment yourself and find your own rhythm to achieve relaxation.)
If you are someone who destroys things or becomes violent, I recommend doing sports like boxing, karate, or similar activities. This can help you control your anger and avoid unintentionally hurting others.
If you are someone who yells or insults when hearing negative news, I suggest singing or theater. You can release energy and better use your voice that way.
But if you cry or feel sad when hearing sad news, I recommend letting it out. Cry freely. Then simply walk outside without thinking and breathe the air.
In all these cases, meditation can still be used as an additional practice. Just sit quietly for five minutes, do nothing, and don’t think.
If nothing helps, go to a therapist.
The logic is simple: Emotions → excess energy → release that unnecessary energy in another way. (Comparable, but not exactly the same as catharsis6.)
So, that’s settled.
Most of the time, anger, rage, and negative energy motivate you more to do something than positive information. (This is called negativity bias7.)
If you buy an item and it works, you probably forget about it quickly. But if the item is bad or even a scam, you will remember. Maybe you returned it or wrote a negative review.
You can turn this into your strength.
If a TV program is wrong or various media manipulate information, you can criticize these media.
However, this also means encountering more negative information and contradictions. This can be burdensome for the psyche.
But if you put it coherently on paper, in word and writing, you will feel free.


Text composition

Word count

Many information are often so tangled or hidden behind many words that the most important details are not noticeable. Do you really believe that someone will read a 200-page book when the information could be summarized in 10 pages? Many people go to work, have families, study, and so on. They cannot keep up with everything related to science, manipulation, corruption, and politics. Therefore, better and faster communication is essential. However, overly simple communication could contain false or misinterpreted information.

It would be best to present information in a clear and readable form, without too much clutter.

But before even receiving the information, the question is how many words the information should contain at most.
My suggestion is to write the information in less than 1,000 words8, with sources as footnotes.
If you still need more words, I would split it into two parts: a short part of about 1,000 words, and then provide a link to the longer part, where you are free to use as much text and words as you want.
If you believe that nobody will read 1,000 words in the first part, you can condense the information into 500 words or even 500 characters (about 100 words or 10 sentences), as is common on some social media platforms.
I chose 1,000 words because I personally expect people can still read for about 5 minutes (200 words per minute; 1,000 words / 200 words = 5 minutes).

However, reality may not match my preferred scenario. To ensure people read your article, you can include a reference to TTS9 (text-to-speech) or reading aloud the text. So people working at screens can listen to it in parallel as a distraction or as important information instead of reading.

After about 300 words, or one to two minutes of reading time, half of the audience might already stop reading. That’s why the first 10 sentences are often the most important.
Alternatively, you could ignore the full text and only describe the data with 1-2 sentences, followed by the conclusions without any fuss.

I would like to present some examples below and show how each idea resonates. Then you can decide for yourself which one suits you best.

For this, I will use the topic of democracy and how it truly stands.


Headline

And here we encounter the first problem: the headline.
What should the topic be called?

  • Simply “Democracy” But that is too vague. One might think the goal is to define the word or mention countries that have a democracy.
  • Democracy in Danger“, “Democracy needs protection” These headlines convey a sense of hope.
  • Democracy and Manipulation” Very simple structure, topic + manipulation or topic + criticism. It fits everywhere if you want to criticize something. But you can also praise something with topic + praise.
  • Democracy was never real” – This headline is provocative and factually difficult, because by definition, democracy10 means that the folk can vote. It doesn’t matter what manipulations are happening in the background. It also doesn’t matter if the voters are a very small group, like wealthy citizens or an elite (for example France in 1848). Even if only a tiny minority votes, it is still a democracy by definition, as long as this group is legally considered “the folk”.11

And you can decide for yourself which headline to choose.

But we will use “Democracy was never real” as the headline.
The problem is that people who are convinced that democracy is above all else will see this statement from the start as negative or as an attack on their system. They might even think it’s a national socialist (Nazi) idea or a text supporting dictatorship, and perhaps even unconstitutional. (I want to emphasize that we do not endorse any of that.)

But you also have to take risks. You have to be able to criticize what many see as a fundamental, stable system.

I want to discuss whether democracy is really as ideal as it is often portrayed. I will examine democracy from a critical and problematic perspective and present various arguments. Instead of serving as a neutral information platform, news outlets filter and frame topics according to their own political and economic agendas. Through targeted language, repetitive coverage of certain issues, and the omission of other viewpoints, they significantly influence what voters consider important and how they perceive candidates or parties. This undermines the foundation for an informed and autonomous decision-making process, which is essential for a “true” democracy. Public opinion, the basis for democratic decisions, is heavily controlled by capital and media. This includes various TV channels, news outlets, and newspapers. Wealthy individuals and large corporations can dominate political campaigns through media ownership and advertising, steering the debate in their favor. They decide what we talk about, and more importantly, what we do not talk about. Targeted disinformation and massive misinformation or omission of information can be used to artificially create a desired artificial opinion. This creates an opinion that suits them. It is no longer information. It is fabrication. It is the artificial construction of public opinion. Of course, there are occasional exceptions or individuals who go against the tide, but they are given little attention. Only parties that sell themselves and show up everywhere with advertising are elected and gain attention, while others with less money cannot afford such luxuries.
Elections and public appearances are no longer won solely by ideas but primarily through financial resources. Those with large funds can push their messages into the public space via expensive ad campaigns, posts, attention, and professional marketing. As a result, well-funded positions are perceived disproportionately, while alternative or critical voices without sufficient financial support hardly get heard. It’s not “One person, one vote,” but “One euro, one more voter.” In the context of manipulation, a key strategy for maintaining power is to deliberately leave meanings vague and elusive. When political slogans, promises, or even threats are never precisely defined, they can mean anything and nothing. The voter can fill in the gaps mentally themselves or steer their perception so they believe their values are being supported.Vague promises like “security,” “democracy,” or “freedom” can be filled with hopes from very different voter groups. Everyone hears what they want to hear. Since it is never specified how something should be achieved or what it exactly means, it cannot later be held accountable for not fulfilling it. The promise was technically never broken because it was never clearly articulated. Critics are declared a problem, not the lack of clarity. Thus, language is used not as a tool for clarification but as a tool for obfuscation (confusion). The refusal to define something “exactly” is not an accident but a method. Every party has a party program and ideally a campaign program. But these are long and complicated. Sometimes the rhetoric is hard to understand. But who has the time to study them thoroughly? Not everyone has time to read them. Between work, family, and other commitments, most barely find the time. And not everyone can or wants to engage so intensively with politics. Nor are they necessarily interested. People decide based on headlines, debates, short information snippets, feelings, and what they catch in their environment. Complexity is replaced by simple messages. Politics becomes a brand. We vote for a feeling, a face, a slogan, an illusion, but not the reality. The real plans and positions are hidden in thick documents that hardly anyone reads. And we not even discuss about broken promises or lies, or opinions and demands that constantly change. In the end, it’s not the best idea that wins, but the loudest. And those with the biggest media outlets or the most expensive advertising campaigns usually find the most ears. The arguments show that democracy is an ideal for most people, but reality does not meet that ideal. Moreover, the definition of democracy is broad and can even be claimed by non-democratic countries. Therefore, a new, qualified term for democracy is needed. One that includes aspects like media manipulation, lobbying, and lies in political practice. The goal of such a term would be to show that the claim of popular sovereignty is far from being fulfilled. Instead, the current system seems to be shaped by elites, manipulative opinion-making, and neglect of the broad population. This new term should be linked to a concrete checklist that clearly defines what a “true” democracy entails (contains) and considers manipulative strategies and their deficits. Possible examples of such neologisms could be: Fair Democracy, Balanced Democracy, Folkratie, Peoples’ Republic, Transparent Democracy, etc.

Politics becomes a brand. We vote for a feeling, a face, a slogan, an illusion, but not the reality. The real plans and positions are hidden in thick documents that hardly anyone reads. And we not even discuss about broken promises or lies, or opinions and demands that constantly change.
In the end, it’s not the best idea that wins, but the loudest. And those with the biggest media outlets or the most expensive advertising campaigns usually find the most ears.
The arguments show that democracy is an ideal for most people, but reality does not meet that ideal. Moreover, the definition of democracy is broad and can even be claimed by non-democratic countries.
Therefore, a new, qualified term for democracy is needed. One that includes aspects like media manipulation, lobbying, and lies in political practice. The goal of such a term would be to show that the claim of popular sovereignty is far from being fulfilled. Instead, the current system seems to be shaped by elites, manipulative opinion-making, and neglect of the broad population.
This new term should be linked to a concrete checklist that clearly defines what a “true” democracy entails (contains) and considers manipulative strategies and their deficits.
Possible examples of such neologisms could be:
Fair Democracy, Balanced Democracy, Folkratie, Peoples’ Republic, Transparent Democracy, etc.

Arguments-Text

A text that is organized in a pattern, where each statement/argument begins with a main point, followed by an explanation of the argument.
At the beginning, there is a short introduction to present the topic and provide the context. At the end, there is a conclusion to summarize everything as a final statement. This summary serves as a deduction
In different institutions, you will likely hear different variants. However, I believe that these variants are not suited on the internet. Therefore, I ask you to use the pattern you were taught in your work or literature for institutions. But for the general public and outside, I think a different approach is better suited.
When describing an argument, provide sources and examples, as this is the best way to illustrate your point.
Do not add unnecessary words to make it seem “more” elaborate. Nobody needs to reach a specific word count. If an argument takes three sentences, then it is what it is.
In institutions, it is said that the first argument is the weakest and the last is the strongest. However, online and outside, it’s different. The first argument should be the strongest. Most readers will probably never get to the second argument, so the next one should be the second strongest, and so on.
Use a maximum of five arguments, as a person can process about 7 ± 2 pieces of information

I also recommend including counterarguments to your own opinion in the longer part. This shows that you understand the opposing side, but still do not agree due to the points mentioned above or because the other points carry more weight. Additionally, I suggest you also mention arguments that are worthless, have little or no significance, or cancel each other out if you wish. I would call these ‘ambivalent.’
Consider the arguments as building blocks that together form a house, where different arguments have different weight.

I want to discuss whether democracy is really as ideal as it is often portrayed. I will examine democracy from a critical and problematic perspective and present various arguments.

Targeted disinformation and massive misinformation or omission of information can be used to artificially create a desired artificial opinion.
This creates an opinion that suits them. It is no longer information. It is fabrication. It is the artificial construction of public opinion.
Of course, there are occasional exceptions or individuals who go against the tide, but they are given little attention.

I personally prefer the argumentative text.
This way, the text is easier to understand, and if someone disagrees with something, they can specifically point out the respective argument. Additionally, it makes it easier to explain where one suspects a fallacy, misinformation, or a logical error.
It is also possible to combine or experiment with different text forms.


Video

Alternatively, you can create videos to express your opinion.
You can use websites like Dailymotion, BitChute, Rumble, and others for uploading. These platforms only require an email to create an account, which you can set up with Proton.
You can also use YouTube. However, YouTube requires verification with a phone number for account creation or shortly thereafter. This act cannot be skipped, so you could be traced back through it.
Imagine you criticize a corrupt politician. Do you seriously believe that such a person wouldn’t have the means or contacts to find you via your mobile number, which you must provide to YouTube, and put pressure on you?


Protest

Protest / Activist / Rebel:
A protest is the public voice of the folk. It sends a clear signal. Most protests are organized by activists.

However, many protests include slogans or texts that are not understandable without context. A reference to a website, brochure, or similar where it is explicitly stated what the protest aims to achieve would be ideal.
There, specific goals and concrete criticisms should be expressed.
This way, other citizens can support positively or provide constructive criticism.
In a group, you do not work alone. You find like-minded people with whom you can develop strategies and sustainably bring about change. From many individual voices, a strong, unmistakable force emerges. But beware of group stupidity13, groupthink or peer pressure. Don’t let yourself be pushed into something you don’t want.

Pay attention to the law and avoid violence. If a protest becomes violent, it will appear to others as if you are not rebels fighting for a better future, but psychopathic lunatics who want anarchy where theft, murder, and assault should be everyday occurrence.
Don’t make life worse for others. Make arrangements with the local mayor or city administration.
If you march into a street where many people are going to work, you will become unpopular.

Follow the law, the opponents are not stupid.


Sticker Protest

You can also put up stickers to reveal areas that are morally questionable. An example of this is placing a sticker on women’s parking spaces with the inscription “Sexism.” This is intended to highlight that such parking spots represent a discriminatory practice. (Why are there no men’s parking spaces?)

When using stickers, attention should be paid to the following:

  • They contain little plastic
  • They are biodegradable
  • They are easy to remove without the need to scrape off residues
  • They do not burden the workers who have to remove them

There will surely be a place where stickers are not removed out of respect or due to poor organizational planning. This are our goals.

Additionally, stickers should not be placed in one’s own environment or community, as the likelihood of being caught is high. It is better to dress inconspicuously, avoiding cameras and people, to remain unnoticed and avoid getting into trouble.

However, applying stickers is illegal, just like graffiti.

The aim is not to deface everything or stick stickers everywhere, but to expose and highlight societal flaws.


Politician

If you want to make the rules of the game fairer, you can do so from the inside. Becoming a politician means actively shaping the future of your community and reforming or improving the system from within. The more politicians work together for the same cause, the more effective the process becomes.
Get involved in a party that aligns with your vision of a fairer world or start one yourself.
Begin locally in communal politics to learn the fundamentals of democratic participation.

As an alternative to joining a single party, a group of people pursuing the same goal can become active in different parties. Through internal and external elections, influence can then be used to achieve objectives.


End

At the end, you can mainly create texts or videos realistically. It’s unlikely that people will go out and protest.

But which form would you use, if at all?
Once a video is created, it can reach many people because it’s easy to consume. However, in a video, you cannot easily update or correct information afterward. You would need to produce a second video, then a third, and so on.
A text, in its pure form, is very flexible. You can edit, update, add content, or supplement it with other sources later, depending on where it was created. It’s also readable, and it’s easier to cite.

But reading is harder to consume than videos if you don’t have time.
Instead of listening, you have to read letters and hallucinate coherent thoughts from them.
Theoretically, you can link the text link and update it as needed. With videos, this is less possible because a video is already a finished product.

I suggest publishing a text that is already needed for videos or other activities.
Then, you can create supplementary videos or other content.
A text can serve as a foundation or an in-depth exploration of your idea, while videos could be used for promotion or dissemination (spread the idea).


Publication

You can create a text without needing to register. An example of this is Renty. Alternatively, you can use Notepad or other tools. However, your texts will not be listed in search engines with either option. You could submit these links somewhere14. However, they will probably NOT be forwarded to other search engines.

If you only provide your email address, you can publish the created text on social media platforms, such as Lemmy or Mastodon.

If you want to address multiple topics simultaneously, it is advisable to create your own website, for example with WordPress (like here).

I want to emphasize that it is quite possible that no one will ever read your text.

You could use AI for research purposes, such as detecting errors or testing logical conclusions for validity or refutation.
You consume the AI, not the other way around.

A list, a wiki, an encyclopedia, or something similar that compiles everything would be advantageous.
